Excursions, Guided Tours & Things To Do in Santorini

Grand View Hotel can arrange to reserve your seat with any excursion on the island. We can tell you how to get to a particular destination and if there is a tour available.

Pull up a chair - have a coffee. We have things to talk about.

Seafarers Ahoy! If you love being on the water, there are all sorts of sea outings to choose from: Caldera Sailing Tours, Sunset, Caldera and Volcano Boat Tours, Catamaran Cruises, boat trips to Thirassia Island, a Jet Ski Tour to the Volcano and a Santorini Fishing Tour.

Landlubbers, enjoy a Private Guided Tour around Santorini and the Photography Tour. Sky birds - soar with a Helicopter Flight and see Santorini from the air. Romantic souls will love an evening meal on the Caldera and sunset watching in Oia.

Santorini's wines are famous. There are several winery tours with wine tasting and a Santorini Wine Museum. Art Space Winery in Exo Gonia is particularly unusual because it combines contemporary art exhibitions housed in an old Canava with a small winery and vineyards.

Santorini is a veritable treasure trove of the archaeological and the ancient. History buffs will love walking around the excavations of the Minoan Bronze Age Settlement in Akrotiri and the Museum of Prehistoric Thira in Fira. The site of the fortified settlement Ancient Thira high up on Mesa Vouno, named after King Thiras from whence Santorini got her official name, was built and colonised by the Spartans.

Hiking along the Caldera path from Fira to Oia is popular with nature lovers and the adventurous. The view is spectacular - the route, however, can be challenging, so good walking shoes, water and a hat are a must. It takes two to five hours, depending on how fast you walk. The distance is just under 10.5 km. Early morning is the best time to avoid the summer sun. If you don't want to go it alone, a guided walking tour is available.

Kamari's Outdoor Cinema is a great way to spend a summer's eve. The atmosphere is casual; there is a bar to buy the usual snacks, and they even serve wine.

For a fun evening, The White Door Theatro in Fira puts on a nightly Greek Family Wedding Show where guests feel part of the wedding. There is singing, dancing, breaking of plates, unlimited wine and Greek tapas.

Have another coffee. We're just getting started.
